This was a photo of Mika driving at the Monaco GP in Monte-Carlo during 1999.  Michael Schumacher went on to win the race with a superior pit stop strategy.  Hakkinen spun the car mid way through, on a patch of oil left by another car's blown engine , losing several seconds.

This photo was of Mika's team mate David Coulthard racing in the rain during the 1998 Belgian GP at Spa.  During this race Hakkinen crashed out early on.  Coulthard's race also ended in disaster when he had a major collision with Michael Schumacher.  Coulthard had slowed significantly during a fast corner with the result that a closely following Schumacher impacted heavily, losing his suspension in the process.  Both cars were out of the race as a result and Michael had to be held back when he ran over to the McLaren pit garage afterward to confront Coulthard.

This time we had a photo of Mika in the 1998 West McLaren Mercedes Formula One car.  This photo was as above taken during the British GP race at Silverstone, England, except in 1998 of course.  Notice that the tyres are now Bridgestone, they played a significant part in the giving the team their advantage during the 1998 season.

This was a photo Mika driving the 1997 West McLaren Mercedes Formula One car.  The photo was taken during the British GP race at Silverstone, England in 1997.  This was the first year with the new livery, because of the switch from Marlboro to West as main sponsor.  The yellow lettering on the tyres identfies them as Good Year.
